How long do photos live?
A photo lasts exactly as long as it reflects your appearance and status by 90–100%.
If you’re creating a story:
A magazine cover and article
A poster with a slogan (for advertising)
A family portrait (as the head of the family!)
My clients usually did a photoshoot once a year because they were published in various magazines and ran advertising campaigns.
By the way, if the photoshoot is organized by a magazine, all copyright for your photos belongs to that magazine!
That’s why many businessmen and politicians would order a photoshoot from me—to have the right to use the photos for their own needs.
As for old photos—well, we men have this trait: we think we’re still awesome and look the same as we did in pictures taken 10 or 15 years ago. Sometimes it’s true, but rarely. This is especially noticeable with women—they see one image, but a different person arrives in real life.
There are no unattractive people—just the wrong lighting and bad angles.
And yes, clothing and accessories matter, especially when we’re talking about a business photoshoot.
A good photographer will help bring out your best.
